What started as an idea has become a programme making a real difference to young people across London.
Over the last 18 months, the
@LFBfootballclub has been delivering a community engagement programme through football.
John Chinnery and Kristopher Barry have had the privilege of using football as a vehicle to design and deliver a structured nine-week development programme for young people across London.
Through football, they have created an environment that builds confidence, resilience, and discipline, while promoting values that extend far beyond the pitch. The programme has enabled meaningful engagement with young people, providing insight into the
@LondonFire while also exposing participants to wider career pathways and opportunities.
We are also proud to have developed strong partnerships with Martin Cassidy,
@goalsfootballuk ,
@DiscountFK ,
@trailgroupltd , Mark Pierozynski, and
@nikefootball . These collaborations have elevated the programme by providing access to top-class facilities and unique creative opportunities, including the chance for participants to design and potentially win their own VESEY iD shirt.
Seeing how far this initiative has come has been incredible. What started as an idea within the football section has grown into a programme that is delivering real impact within our communities.
Our ambition is to continue expanding this work across London, reaching more young people and using football as a powerful tool for engagement, development, and inspiration. We also hope this model can support other Fire and Rescue Services in creating similar initiatives within their own communities.
This video captures just a snapshot of what has been achieved so far, highlighting both the progress made and the exciting journey ahead.
We are proud of what has been built and the positive impact it has had on the students from:

Thank you to everyone who has supported the programme and helped make a difference in the lives of young people across London.
