Press Release: MULTILATERALISM IN CRISIS, THE 1% CASH IN: FIGHT INEQUALITY ALLIANCE SLAMS IMF & WORLD BANK HEIST “The system is rigged. It’s a heist of epic proportions. The World Bank and IMF are a scam, exploiting the 99% for the benefit of the 1%. People everywhere are drawing a red line and fighting for economies and democracies that put people and planet before greed,” said Jenny Ricks, General Secretary of Fight Inequality Alliance. "Life in Zambia shows the cruelty of IMF austerity. Subsidy cuts have pushed food, fuel, and transport beyond the reach of ordinary people, while drought drives hunger and despair. This is not reform, it is punishment of the 99% for the profit of the 1%,” said Mputa Ngalande, National Coordinator of Fight Inequality Alliance Zambia, “We refuse to be sacrificed, and we will demand justice at the People’s Summit in Johannesburg." fightinequality.org/news/mul… #WeThe99

#RedLineToBillionaires ✊🏾 We took your message to the billionaires' ski resort party. 🎿🏔️ And it was loud and clear! 📢📣 “TAX THE SUPER RICH!” 💸 blazed across a mountainside near Davos (where private jets land)—400 meters wide—next to the faces of #Trump, #Musk, and #Zuckerberg. 😠💼🤑 With another bold call: “LET’S DRAW THE RED LINE & STOP PAYING BILLIONAIRES’ TAX BILL!” ✍🏾🚫💰 From Delhi to Mexico City, Lagos to Lahore, Harare to Davos, the world is rising against inequality. It's time to TAX THE SUPER-RICH, INVEST IN PUBLIC SERVICES 🏥📚, FIGHT THE CLIMATE CRISIS 🌿🌡️, and END CRONY CAPITALISM. 🚫💼 #redlinetobillionaires #Davos2025 #wef2025 #TaxTheRich #FightInequality #redlineaction #PeoplePower #climatejustice @followers @Greenpeace @newsfromoxfam @CIVICUSalliance @Oxfam @oxfamgbpolicy @wef @Davos @NationMediaGrp @jenny_ricks @eNCA @SABCNews @NBCNews @OdeToOptimism

Greed is what's killing this country. People even get shocked when they see someone doing the right thing. One time, I was sending work stuff to Katete using a bus. This guy asked me how much he should write on the receipt and I told him the exact amount I said I had, which I requested from our Accounts Office. He was so surprised as if it's not a normal thing to do. You get a quote for an item or service valued at K15,000, then you go on to ask the supplier to make it K45,000 because you want to get a cut from the deal. While all this is happening, there's a clinic in Muchinga that does not have maternity health services. There's a school in Kaoma where children are sitting on bricks to learn. And yet, that extra K30,000 could make a difference. Greed will run this country down. And no, I'm not talking about the previous regime only. Even in the current administration, there are greedy people stealing public resources to enrich themselves. No moral conscience whatsoever, just vibes and theft.

In #Zambia today, stealing a political party is big business! In this opinion piece, I demonstrate how the ruling party’s bid to either destroy or take control of the main opposition has taken a huge leap forward in recent days. africanarguments.org/2023/12…
