This year has been a BIG year for music, and as we’re nearing the tail end of 2025, I thought I’d do a thread over the next couple of months of my favourite albums, leading up to my AOTY. In no particular order, here goes …🎧🧵

Well I thought #SNLUK was brilliant. Could’ve put good money on certain tv critics ripping it apart just for clout. Give it time to breathe, it’s a great platform for new talent on and off screen. And is a great thing for live tv!

#EastEnders today. Wow. Episodes like that are why I will never ever stop banging the drum about how important the soaps are on the TV landscape. So much character history, a story that speaks to huge numbers of viewers and doesn't shy away from the tough bits. Brilliant stuff.

Some of the comments I’m seeing about John Davidson because of his ticks at the BAFTAs are really disheartening to see. Perhaps people should actually watch the film about his life. Then they’d maybe understand that he cannot help what he says and it’s just as painful for him as it is for those affected by his tics

It was an honour getting to produce tonight’s special @BBCEastEnders Nigel dementia episode, and getting to ‘resurrect’ Pat Butcher, Barry Evans and Debbie Bates (and Young Phil and Grant). A real “pinch me moment”. Merry Christmas, sweet’earts! #EastEnders

Hi Lee. He doesn’t. They didn’t, an Independant production Co did…it should have been picked up, direct heads should roll, we should appreciate a Broadcaster that actually reports on its own mistakes. It’s ours, it’s part of the fabric of being British, attacking it is pretty unpatriotic I say.

Watching #EastEnders without reading any of the spoilers is waaaay more enjoyable. Really enjoying this new era, especially the Nigel storyline. Please don’t kill him off at Christmas 🙏🏻

Antony Szmierek // Service Station at the End of the Universe A man of the people, former English teacher from Stockport releases a banger of a spoken work album, that is so poetic it makes you yearn to be taught by him. Raw, honest and relatable, Szmierek is making his mark.

Addison Rae // Addison Dreamy synth pop, from Addison’s debut self titled album. Just 33 mins in length, it’s short and sweet, with some excellent euphoric tracks such as Aquamarine, Headphones On and of course the breakout hit…Diet Pepsi

Right, call me a loser, but am I the only one missing the campness of the weekly celebrity guest to read the T&Cs?! Where has it gone? #StrictlyComeDancing

#EastEnders tackling incel culture through the Joel storyline is brave & harrowing. No matter what you think of soaps, this can cut through to folk in a way the internet never can. It’s opening up uncomfortable conversations about misogyny & radicalisation that NEED to be had.
