As of this evening, we don't know where @EriasLukwago is being kept after his kidnap from his home today by @mkainerugaba. Together with his wife and lawyer Medard Lubega and others, we went to Nateete police station to report a case of kidnap but they refused to register it. We were sent to Kibuli CID headquaters to see the Deputy CID Chelimo. He also sent us to Kampala Metropolitan Police CID who has also refused to register the case. We have decided to write a letter to @UgPoliceFC, we hope they will receive it.

I have cried so much today, God i am just tired😭😭😭for how long God? For how long will you look on? How long will you watch them mock and oppress your children? Have we sinned so much that you have forgotten about us? Why have you hidden your face from us? God we are helpless, come and help us!

UPDATE 🚨: The Uganda Law Society has condemned the arrest of senior lawyer and lead counsel of detained Kizza Besigye, Erias Lukwago, describing it as an attack on the legal profession and the rule of law. This afternoon, I officially opened the Cabinet Induction Retreat at Kyankwanzi. I reminded the leaders that the historical role of the NRM and post-Independence African leadership is socio-economic transformation. We cannot continue to have people trapped in subsistence production. Our mission is to move every household into the money economy through commercial agriculture, manufacturing, services and ICT. Leaders must guide the people towards wealth creation, value addition and prosperity. We must build a middle class and a skilled working class. That is the benchmark by which leadership should be judged.
