Spoke with Canadian Minister of National Defence David McGinty to expand our defense cooperation. Our main focus is air defense to counter ballistic threats, specifically looking to boost the PURL mechanism and secure PAC-3 missiles through JUMPSTART. Expressed gratitude for the AIM-9 missiles for our F-16s, delivered with Belgium's logistical support. We also focused on scaling our tech, urging Canada to invest in Ukrainian drone production via the "Danish model." Additionally, we discussed the delivery of diesel pickups and long-range artillery ammunition through the Czech initiative. Thankful to Canada for their steadfast commitment and joint defense-industrial projects. Together, we are transforming strategic support into immediate battlefield capabilities.

Ukraine hits Russian refineries that finance and sustain the war. Russia hits ancient monasteries, museums, homes. They believe destroying our culture and terrorizing civilians will break Ukraine. They are wrong.

This is truly terrible. The Lavra is quite isolated from all official buildings, so the Russians can't claim anything but that they wanted to destroy one of Ukraine's finest cathedrals, following Stalin's tradition.

We must be morally prepared for the fact that Russia will deliberately try to destroy Ukraine's many ancient monuments and its most important sites of cultural and historical heritage. Today, they desecrated the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra with their violence. They struck the Dovzhenko Film Studio. The Mystetskyi Arsenal art center was damaged, as was a church in Dnipro. Saint Sophia of Kyiv is in danger. So are the ancient landmarks of Kyiv, the thousand-year-old churches of Chernihiv, the museums of the Zaporizhian Sich, and the historic treasures of Lviv. Since fascist Russia is somehow unable to defeat the Ukrainian army, and its missile terror against civilians is failing to produce results, the mighty and invincible Russia will now bravely wage war against historic churches with even greater ferocity.

Russia has also attacked the "Mystetsky Arsenal" in Kyiv. For context: The "Mystetsky Arsenal" is a national cultural, art, and museum center. Russia: We never attack civilian targets. Reality: Russia attacks almost exclusively civilian targets.

When Notre-Dame burned in 2019, the world stopped. Today, Russia damages Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a monastery nearly 1,000 years old and older than Notre-Dame itself. A thousand years of history deserves the same attention, the same sympathy, and the same protection.

The world has once again witnessed the mass murder of Ukrainians. At least in Kyiv, four people have been killed in a russian attack tonight. In Kharkiv, five more were killed. This is terror. Pure terror. Nothing else.

Russia has attacked the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio in Kyiv, one of Ukraine’s oldest film studios. The strike damaged the studio’s costume workshop and destroyed Ukraine’s largest and oldest costume collection. The studio held around 100,000 costumes and three million items of clothing. Last time, the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra was bombed and burned by the Nazis. Now the Russians are doing the same. And Russian Patriarch Kirill approved and blessed it.

By striking the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, one of the greatest holy sites of Christianity, Putin has forever put his name on the list of history’s worst barbarians. He should be damned for centuries. And he will lose this war. From the Horde in the 13th century to the Nazis and Bolsheviks in the 20th century, Kyiv’s sacred monasteries have suffered numerous barbarically attacks. Now we are dealing with Russian terrorists who have already outmatched ISIS in their crimes against cultural heritage. Only Russian scum who have nothing sacred can deliberately damage the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a unique UNESCO heritage site under special protection. We will be urgently initiating all relevant procedures within UNESCO and all other international mechanisms, demanding immediate and adequate responses to this state barbarism. We expect strong reactions by international institutions and capitals. No vague words, silence, or weak steps. We need action now to stop Russian barbarism.

Russia likes to present itself as the guardian of Christian civilization. By striking the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, it has instead once again demonstrated its barbarity and contempt for humanity's shared heritage. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ukraine is a provider of European security, the strongest and most battle-tested military power in Europe right now. There might be arguments about how we can deal with a new member that is at war with Russia. But we have a precedent: when we allowed Germany into NATO back in 1955, the whole of Germany formally joined NATO, yet we decided that only the territory controlled by the government in Western Germany was covered by Article 5. We could do exactly the same with Ukraine and say: “You join NATO and Article 5 only covers that part of Ukraine controlled by the government in Kyiv.”
