To prepare for writing a Return Narrative inspired by Grandad’s Island, Year 2 have completed our Role on Wall activity to create phrases and vocabulary about the character of Sydney. 🏝️✏️👴 @parishschool1
Year 2 have created miniature habitats for their Bog Babies following Mrs Ejimofor’s instructions to keep a Bog Baby happy and healthy. We hope a Bog Baby might visit our habitats soon! 💧🫙@parishschool1
In nursery we retold The Three Billy Goats Gruff using props in the water tray🐐🌉 We built bridges using problem-solving skills to test their strength and loved using phrases like “Who’s that trip trapping over my bridge?”
Reception have had a fantastic start to the week! They’ve been busy creating artwork through painting. In English, they followed instructions to make cakes 🧁 and then wrote their own - such great creativity and independence ✍🏼 🌈 @parishschool1#ParishEarlyYears
Year 2 had so much fun celebrating World Book Day! We met and learned all about our visiting author, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, created a book jar about The Bog Baby, took part in the Little People BIG DREAMS workshop, and chose a book from our Book Sale! @parishschool1@MrsEFlanders
Busy #WorldBookDay! 📚 The children retold Jack and the Beanstalk, built beanstalks with cheerios, kebab sticks & playdough, made bookmarks, visited the book fair, and cooked porridge for the Three Bears in the mud kitchen! 🐻🥣

To celebrate National Storytelling Week, Year 3 joined an online workshop with the National Literacy Trust, led by Alim Kamara. The children learned how to tell stories through rap and had great fun writing their own. Well done Year 3 — you were amazing! 📖🎤✨@parishschool1
We celebrated National Storytelling Week with a visit from our Year 5 reading buddies and Mr Atherton. The children loved listening to stories read by the Year 5 pupils and sharing a special reading moment together 📚
