“Confidence hinges on action...When girls try NEW things, hard things, their confidence grows.” We must provide opportunities for our female learners to take risks and cultivate self-confidence.
A study by the co-authors of the best-selling book "The Confidence Code," found that girls' confidence drops by 30% between the ages of 8 and 14. Here’s what adults can do to help. amightygirl.com/blog?p=27408

Our class ended the school year with a class talent show via Zoom. One of our incredible students graced us with his piano skills. Enjoy! #JCSallin @jcityTNschools @Woodland_JCS @DrKarenReach *video posted with parent approval*

Today we read The Giraffe Who Was Afraid of Heights by David A. Ufer and played a new game! We chose an animal, an adaptation, and a habitat out of a jar and created new animals. If you want to know how goofy it was, just imagine a curly tailed-tortoise who lives in the arctic!

Today we read Born Yesterday by James Solheim and illustrated by Simon James. We wrote diary entries from the day we were born and drew ourselves as babies! I'm so proud of my hard-working third graders!

It’s amazing how @gregtangmath can SHIFT your perspective on subtraction. After all that shifting practice, I’m doing triple digit subtraction in seconds! Mentally! Thank you! Big thank you to @MathBEEliever @HibbittsTiffany and @milesnawmiles for our meeting 😊

TEACHERS:1000’s of you work in schools that have been canceled in the upcoming weeks. Make it UR goal to either call every kid & say hi or write them a letter, telling them what you appreciate about them, recognize the strengths they bring to your classroom! #Significant72

Our favorite feature on @Flipgrid is a real #HiddenGem! We love to put our videos in "blackboard mode" and show our work when solving problems! It makes us feel like we work at @khanacademy 😉
