We had our first 50% ST Math Party today during lunch. They enjoyed making a penguin to add to the wall and eating lunch with the teacher. I can’t wait for the next one! @rennellredhawks #WeAreRennell @STMath We even watched a video of Jiji cheering us on!

One of the BEST books I share with my family and students has been The Wild Robot. We are totally invested in these sweet characters. It’ll be hard to wait till September to see Roz again - but good things come to those who wait. If you haven’t read the first 2 - do it! NOW!!

When my school threw the most amazing pajama dance party for their winter holiday party - I had to join in the fun! Glow sticks, DJ, smoke machine… great fun was had by ALL!But I felt every one of my 41 years in that cafeteria today! @rennellredhawks

The second you send that kid out of your room & down to an administrator... whatever happens next is out of your control. Don't whine, complain, or be upset w/ the outcome.

A3: The teacher sets the tone in the classroom by building relationships and creating a safe, positive space. It helps a TON for admin to be present though. Kids notice when they’re a positive presence that frequently visits. #Txed

A3: a good admin team will absolutely support the teacher by helping defuse, offering guidance, and listening. I don’t use the office a lot. When I do, it’s serious. So I need serious help. But they aren’t there to do the daily dirty work that comes w discipline. #txed

A2: it’s fun to involve parents on this side too! Call home with the kids right there. It takes 2 minutes. I also do a fair amount of good notes home to empower the student to continue the good behavior. Things like step out of line and walk to lunch by yourself is my fave #txed
