Deputy headteacher, y5/6 teacher, curriculum, maths, history, geography & music. #ActuallyAutistic#ADHD Christian. Love reading, ballet, piano and my cat.
So after the inspiration from @brassoteach and others, I've prettied up my little and often display. The children suggested these things to start with and seem quite enthusiastic about practising them.
Feeling really proud today. My new project completed with the AMAZING team at @HRP_palaces is live and focused on KS1 significant individuals! Even better, it is totally free access!

If you want to learn more about this - and how to make every aspect of reading instruction work in practice - you might be interested in my new book, Primary Reading Simplified.
Never on here these days, so doubt this will be seen, but I'm doing the Barnes Kids Lit School programme this year. 4th of June. Free to attend, schools just need to sign up via the Barnes Kids Lit website.
It's for Y5 & Y6 and completely free of charge.
RTs appreciated!
My new book, Primary Reading Simplified, is released this Monday (27th January).
Briefly, I'd like to explain why it exists, who I think will find it useful and where you can find it.

The second of my whole staff webinars is taking place in March! It focuses on how we teach chronology and why I advocate for this way based on research and classroom experience.
