Congratulations to these Microsoft Kids!! It’s amazing what Kinders can do when you ditch the mentality that certain technology is “too hard” for them. Believe in your students, give them a chance to try, and they will go so far!! @LoriStuart2@l5patti
Ms. Studer’s class created a diamond dance to teach about the forces and motions they use in their vegetable gardens. They used their knowledge of shapes and counting to choreograph their dance, and they documented the process in STEAM journals! @MrsS_OG@OGESeagles@STEMGeorgia
Students are harvesting basil from the garden to hang dry and share with our families! We discussed the physical attributes of freshly harvested basil and will observe how those attributes change as it dries.
Researching on PebbleGo and in books today to get facts for our informational writing pieces. Thanks for visiting and teaching us today, @Deniseogesfam !
We have been learning that teen numbers are a group of 10 plus some number of extra ones. We used an earth material (rocks) to practice counting a group of 10 first. Then we added the extra ones to make a teen number! #outdoorlearning@OGESeagles@CherokeeSchools
We have been learning about living and non-living things in Kindergarten. Look what living thing we found while moving soil in the garden today! #OakGroveSTEAM@OGESeagles@CherokeeSchools
Creating portraits out of living and non-living things for our most recent EDP. Next up we will create addition and subtraction word problems to go along with the items in the portraits! #OakGroveSTEAM#artsintegration@OGESeagles@CherokeeSchools
Going on a scavenger hunt for living and non-living things in the garden was a fun way to observe the differences between the two! #outdoorlearning@OGESeagles@CherokeeSchools
Students are researching how a shadow can change over time based on the position of the sun and earth. We need to understand how shadows can move so that we know which parts of our vegetable garden will get more sun or shade! @OGESeagles@CherokeeSchools
Look at these Kinders go! Not long ago, we were just learning how to log into Canvas. We’re still getting the hang of logging in but this week they got their first official independent assignments! #blendedlearning@OGESeagles@CherokeeSchools@LoriStuart2
When the weather is this beautiful, you take your math lesson outdoors to the garden! We practiced counting 10 with whatever manipulatives we could find in nature. Then we made number pairs for 10 with some of the items we found. #outdoorlearning@OGESeagles@CherokeeSchools
