Early years is about children's development and care, as well as about their learning. The three aspects tend to be very closely intertwined and they are all important. This is part of why we don't have 'subjects' in the #EYFS and also why the prime areas are so fundamental.

If we don’t value those brilliant souls who inspire our kids in their early years then expanding hours won’t happen for anyone - the Tories refused to acknowledge how badly they have been treated. This government is honest about the scale of the challenge and the need to invest.

🌱🥔 Earlier this year, nursery children @NewSilksAcademy planted potatoes. The children have cared for the plants and observed changes over time. Today, they dug up the plants and were happy to see that with hard work, care, and patience potatoes will grow! 🌱🥔 #WeAreGrowing

After flying into his home, a child brought 'Tim-moth-y' into nursery this week. We looked closely at the beautiful colours and patterns and discovered it is an Elephant Hawk Moth. We never thought moths could be as beautiful as a butterfly! #EYFS #EYScience @NewSilksAcademy 1/2

He saw that he had a lovely "bright pink tummy," and his body felt "soft and velvety." We placed him in the bug hotel to keep him protected until dark when he would look for a new home. #WeAreCurious 2/2
