KS3 is becoming a national conversation again, and this matters because Years 7, 8 and 9 are not the warm-up years. They are not a holding pattern before GCSE and they are not simply the bridge between primary and Key Stage 4

Instead of worrying that humanities degrees don’t prepare students for jobs in today’s world [product managers finance consultants startups], we should worry that we’ve created a world with such little value for literature, art, philosophyβ€”anything that expresses the human soul

With student A.I. use/abuse now ubiquitous, professors and teachers are killing off take-home essays and papers. Students are writing inside the classroom, often by hand. It's part of the big rethink happening on tech and learning. My new report here: nytimes.com/2026/04/30/us/ai…

Every time the West calls an African country "unstable" they mean the resources stopped flowing. I made a glossary of 100 diplomatic words they use and what they actually mean. orange-anselma-35.tiiny.site… Bookmark this before your next history book. 🧡

asked teachers who’ve been in the classroom longer than 15 years what the biggest change has been. Thousands replied, I’ve collated them with a little help from Al πŸ˜‰ Here’s a run down of what came out... If you’ve been teaching 15 years... does this reflect your experience?

The attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States are illegal, unprovoked and unjustifiable. Peace and diplomacy was possible. Instead, Israel and the United States chose war. This is the behaviour of rogue states β€” and they have jeopardised the safety of humankind around the world with this catastrophic act of aggression. Our government must condemn this flagrant breach of international law, and urgently pursue a foreign policy based on justice, sovereignty and peace.

If I were to get any bundle, it would be this one, for sure. Utter hacks and light-bulb-moments that I wish I had as an ECT but it took me nine years of teaching English to work out how to explain/show it. stan.store/secondaryenglish/… #englishteacher #gcseenglish #englishgcse

1st revision booklet written.πŸ’ͺInteresting going through mark-schemes (1st time teaching exam AIC in 8yrs) seeing mostly, tier 2, vocab. Of course, mark-schemes are aimed at adults but concepts underpinning words need to be taught. For 2nd lang learners, there's a lot of vocab.

🚨 Accent prestige rankings 🚨 A hierarchy of accent prestige has been entrenched in Britain for centuries, and our research finds that this remains today. We found that accents associated with industrial cities and ethnic minority accents are considered the least prestigious.
