My firm’s work environment went down last weekend. It’s up again with limitations, including not being able to login from a personal computer. Which means I have to go to the office everyday because I don’t want a firm-baptized laptop. That’s fine. But it’s also not because I do have a lot to do and being in the office adds distractions. It can be a bit scrambling. I can get cranky- not because of any particular person interrupting me but like bipoar cranky. I prefer to WFH 2-3 days a week and I would really like the WFH specifically tomorrow. So today I finally broke down and emailed IT to ask for a firm-baptized laptop. The first email was simple: May I please get a loaner? (Insert office number). 10:30 am. I did not get a response for two hours- not even an automated “a ticket has been created” reply. So around 12:30pm, I sent a second email using the “Icon” images in outlook: 🙎🏻‍♀️me 💻laptop = 😀happy Thing is, I know the office may be out of laptops. My dad acted quick and got one on Monday. I know I’ve waited too long asking on a Thursday. But I was determined. So about two hours later, I sent another email. “Hey I made this AI song about my laptop request” (I attached an mp3 file but here is the song: flowmusic.app/song/a57d61d4-…)

I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but if it’s not a laptop, then I fully intend to continue escalating my shenanigans.
