The character sentence stems💡 Students used them to plan analytical paragraphs for AIC focusing on Priestley’s purpose and character contrasts. Excellent use of critical vocabulary and thematic connections throughout! 👏🏽 #teamenglish #engchat #AIC

An inspirational and heart-warming day being surround by incredible, likeminded women at #WELNUAE yesterday! All of the speakers and sessions were wonderful, the student ambassadors were a credit to themselves and our school and the atmosphere was infectious 👏🏼🚺✨

What Does “Six Seven” Mean? I’m tired of hearing it—might as well have students write about it.

Catching up on #educatingyorkshire and having a sob at Tremaine’s beaming face when he’s praised for his writing 😭 literacy interventions are so so so important. Bless his heart 🩵

Year 8 have been working on their purple pen reflections for their baseline assessments over the last couple of lessons. I’m so proud of the students for their excellent and thoughtful improvements - very positive start to the year for them in English 👏🏼🟣📝

Inspired by the wonderful OU/UKLA RfP group based in Dubai, I want to create a space where reading for pleasure is celebrated and students are encouraged to enjoy reading. 📚✨ This little corner in my classroom is a starting point with a range of genres and text types 👩🏻‍🏫📖

On Thursday I found out that I have been awarded my MEd with Distinction 🥹 This is a particularly proud achievement as this qualification coincided with my first year as Head of English whilst also planning our wedding making it a very busy (and at times, stressful) year! 📚✨

Won a great competition with @Bookworm_Dubai - 1000 dirhams to set up my classroom library for the year! Although these aren’t as common in secondary, I really want to encourage my students to read more & pick up books instead of screens so this was perfect! Thank you so much👏🏼📚

My school will be delivering the AQA A Level English Literature A for the first time this year having swapped from Edexcel. Does anybody have an introductory lesson introducing and explaining the course before I make one? 🙏🏼 #AQAEnglishLit #ALevel @EngMediaCentre @Team_English1

Our students journey through English at Hartland 📚 After lots of work on our curriculum at the end of the last academic year, I’m feeling proud and excited of our work as a team and can’t wait to get started with the students next week! 🌟 Thanks to @DHE_teach for the template😊

We’ve officially made it to the last week of term! It’s been a very long 12 weeks - the students are exhausted, we as staff are exhausted but sometimes these last few days are the best because when a student takes the time to say thank you, it reminds you of why we do the job🥹💛

Year 13 promoted me to head of maths as part of their prank morning - anyone who knows my maths ability knows how laughable this is! 🤣 They also bought me the most thoughtful cake 🥹 I ‘shall miss thee sorely’ too, class of 2025! 🫶🏼
