So ends another season for
@ILChillGold Two top 10 finishes at PGF Premier for the 2nd time in last 3 years. We only have 3 teams - 1 at 14, 16 and 18. Program is principally built through an annual open tryout for 12 and 13 year olds that stick around 4 or more years. We don't pay players or give "scholarships" because we only have 40 players and someone has to pay the bills. We still don't have a home field. The coaches are a combo of volunteers and the grossly underpaid. We do find high character players and parents, but we don't hesitate to part ways with ones who prove otherwise. We are built on relationships rather than transactions because that's how you keep and grow your players. We are in a time warp in the modern world of club sports, running the same basic model I started in 1998. The original mindset, let's get to know our players, let's get local kids, let's see if we can win some games, let's have exceptional colors plus a penguin, it is all still there. We don't have a lot, but I think we have all you need for success. Looking forward to 2024-2025, it should be our best year yet.
