I always enjoy seeing what our Title I reading teachers are working on with students. Ms. Geha is truly one of one. She’s amazes me every time I see her interact with one of our #TrustyHuskies. It’s no wonder why students always grow in her classroom. She is #CPSbest!
AHL hosted our first spelling bee in a long time! These 3-5 grade #TrustyHuskies won their class bee and represented them well at our school-wide bee. All K-5 classes were able to zoom in to watch. We are so proud of these #CPSbest students!
Independent reading and reading with a supportive partner is a great way to build fluency and foster the love of reading! We can read a book more than once to gain a better understanding of the characters. #AHL_AVID#trustyhuskies#CPSGrowsreaders
We are the lucky ones to have such amazing leaders, co-workers, and students! Anytime you wanna chat about teaching reading..you know who is ready! #cpsgrowsreaders
Our #TrustyHuskies are so lucky. They have *THE BEST* reading teachers. AHL’s title team (missing Mrs. Schneringer here) really is second to none. They have taught ME so much and for that I am incredibly grateful! Thanks for being #CPSbest, Ladies 💚💙
This student couldn’t wait to write a book about the amazing animals he saw @stlzoo this summer! His favorite animal is the zebra! #ahl_avid#trustyhuskies @rrcna_org
Sometimes we need to stop and play a little game! A reading teacher’s version of Tic-Tac-Toe! I found a competitive spirit in this student😀 #AHL_AVID#trustyhuskies @rrcna_org
We always start our new round of Title 1 Reading Groups with a Social Contract and a way to get to know each other! This helps our Ss to know what is expected and to grow team relationships!!AHL_AVID #trustyhuskies
Roaming around the known! A great time to solidify the Ss knowns. Practice letter formation,ID/sounds, read lots of books, even write our own books! This student wrote her own story about “My favorite Dojo prizes”…also look at that 1:1! @rrcna_org #cpsgrowsreaders#AHL_AVID
