I experiment in my tching practice. This yr I de-emphasized exact precision/measurement, didn’t do unit conversions or sig figs, I tell or show procedure as a means to an end instead of making Ss read or write detailed steps.

Ss can still make meaning w/out correct 150 mL. BUT as a chem tchr, perhaps it’s my role to train & assess rigorous, precise, accurate measurement & lab results? After all, Gen Z is our future, someone has to keep AI in check. (PIC: my attempt to show Ss increments of 0.1)
ALT Ss were struggling mightily to understand increments of 0.1. However, they understand money. So I dramatically cut up a dollar into visual “tenths.”
