Watch the May edition of Superintendent @IamBranum's video newsletter, Keeping Tabs. As we approach the end of the school year, she discusses the role of technology in learning, a budget update for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, and celebrates students, staff, and our community in her most recent update.

Way to #RISDDreamBig - Jose, you’re the epitome of #SiSePuede keep going and accomplish all your goals and dreams… for all of us 💚
From the grit of the construction site to a full ride to his dream school at the @UTAustin School of Engineering 🎓 , @JJPearceHS Senior, Jose Patino, is proof that a strong foundation can take you anywhere. Inspired by watching and learning from his father’s work on construction sites 🏗️ , this Pearce High School senior turned observation into intentionality and determination. As a child of immigrants, Jose set out to honor his parents' sacrifices by building a future as tangible as the skyscrapers he dreams of designing. His determination and willingness to step out of his comfort zone really began to shine in the last couple of years, through his experiences in @AVID4College, and Starting Off Strong (SOS), the Senior-Freshman mentoring program at Pearce. Jose applied to 12 colleges and was accepted into every one of them – an incredible accomplishment for any student, but especially as a first-generation college student navigating the process largely through the support of teachers, mentors, and peers. 📖 Read Jose’s full feature story: bit.ly/4doldhI #RISDDreamBig #RISDClassof2026

So honored to have all the professionals come to inspire our @CBEBears But it took a lot of work to organize and our @CBEcounselors outdid themselves! So grateful for both of you!! #risddreambig
.@CBEBears had a full house at their Career Fair! They even had a few ✨extra special guests✨ speak to them about their careers. Students heard from doctors, a flight attendant, beauty queen, policemen, firefighters, several members of the Richardson ISD School Board, City of Richardson Councilman, Mayor Amir Omar, and so many more! Thank you to all the presenters for pouring into our students and being an inspiration! 📸 bit.ly/4tbAJTZ

May marks the celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, recognizing one of the largest and most diverse communities in the world. We honor the rich cultures, histories, and significant contributions of AAPI communities, including individuals with roots across East, South, and Southeast Asia, as well as the Pacific Islands of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. From innovation and leadership to arts, education, and public service, AAPI communities continue to shape and strengthen our world. In our schools and classrooms everywhere, let’s take this opportunity to uplift and honor their legacy.
