NOW: Thousands will pour into Luneta Park and the People Power Monument on EDSA from various points across Metro Manila this Bonifacio Dayâwith more demonstrations taking place across the countryâas they again drum up the fight against the persistent crisis of government corruption.
âBaha sa Luneta 2.0,â led by the alliance Kilusang Bayan Kontra Korakot and multisectoral groups, will begin its main program at 9 a.m. They will attempt a march to the foot of Mendiola later in the afternoon. At the same time, the âTrillion Peso Marchââcomposed mainly of the Tindig Pilipinas coalition, as well as religious and civil society organizationsâwill take place along EDSA with a program extending into the early evening.
Sundayâs massive, wide-ranging protests follow the last set of events that took place on Sept. 21, which coincided with the 53rd anniversary of Martial Law. Similarly, Nov. 30âa holiday commemorating the birth of the revolutionary and Katipunan leaderâwill be marked by demands ranging from calls for transparency to the resignation of the nationâs top leaders altogether.
