this spunky little redwood on Ferry Road has doubled its height in 3 growing seasons! 🚀 if it can keep doing that, then by 2037 it will be the tallest tree in the UK and by 2289 it will be taller than the known universe

my dwarf Bramley has become quite wonky this year from the weight of all its fruit. can anyone advise, or direct me to some good resources, on the pruning of domestic apple trees? they didn't teach about this in tree school

i think it's time to share the freakiest tree enquiry i ever received. it's seasonally relevant as it's Halloween soon @ldnphile @jharphamtrees i took a call from an elderly resident, let's call him Mr MacLeod, about a tree outside his house causing various problems

he lives near my office, so i say, i can visit today! are you at home? he says no, but Mrs MacLeod is in. so i walk over. Mrs MacLeod was there, but was very taken aback by my story. Mr MacLeod was nine years dead. but she showed me the tree, exactly as he had described it 👻👻👻

the lightly floppy form of Lawson cypress can give an impression of a blur of upwards movement, as if the tree is a rocket taking off to the moon

this log used to be a riverside willow. it fell in a storm a few years ago, and when i went to investigate, i found it a third of a mile downstream. that's the furthest i have ever known a tree to move without human intervention

tree inspectors, if you see decay in a tree and immediately conclude that it is dangerous and needs to be removed without any further analysis, please either get some more training or change profession
