Ellen is a photographer who hand prints and hand colours a lot of her work. Her pictures are often strikingly ethereal and mysterious and somewhat shadowy and uncertain - and this seemed to connect perfectly to the mood we were trying to capture on Through Crooked Aim (1/3)

We particularly loved this image of a girl looking out into a slightly unreal landscape. It feels as if she is lost or unsure whether to continue…or maybe she knows the place and is heading for home…or maybe she is running away from or towards something. (2/3)

The uncertainty is just what we were looking for. We also loved the subtle colouring of the picture and it informed all of the artwork for this album.
