Dogs communicate better off lead and can make better informed decision which reduces anxiety around social situations.
So I am all for on lead means focus on me and sniffing opportunities and other dogs are accessible on cue

🙈So don’t distract your dog from something they are worried about
🦴They may end up seeing your action of drawing out a toy or food as a cue to react to a trigger
🐾Or they may associate a thing they once loved or enjoyed with the trigger and therefore fear

Don’t do this to your reactive dog 🙈 block your dog’s view of the scary thing💪🏻 do give them more space and options 💥learn what the function and motivation behind the behaviour is🐶learn to recognise the antecedents- what comes before the behaviour
