Shocked to hear that Noel from Mulligan's has passed away. He was easily the funniest barman in Dublin. Always joking and having the craic. Poolbeg Street, Dublin and Ireland are a sadder place in his absence. God rest him.

A column on one of Dublin's most joyous men. For almost 50 years, Noel Hawkins dispensed porter and good humour at @Mulligans6 Hard to believe he has left us.

Devastated to hear this news. He was in great form last December (17th) looking forward to the Christmas break as the roster fell favourable for him.

Dublin - along with @Mulligans6 - is a sadder place today. The city's most joyous ambassador has fallen. For more than 40 years, Noel Hawkins dazzled as a barman, comedian, and bottomless font of good humour. I never once saw him in bad form. The beaming prince of Poolbeg St.

This seems to be resonating not only because people like its eloquence but because they like him having the spine to say it.
Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, open sea lanes, a stable financial system, collective security ... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition ... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

Three fire engines along with senior officers are on scene at a fire at George's Dock near the IFSC. Firefighters are using 70mm hose to control the fire and cool adjacent exposures. We've requested @GasNetIrl to the location.

Where Con Houlihan refuelled his mighty, curious mind. Where Dublin's Anton O'Toole smiles down from his shrine. Witness to newspaper history. A Poolbeg (St) lighthouse. Where 40-year veteran, Noel, offers pints & Billy Connolly wit. A special, history-steeped Eden. @Mulligans6

J O’Connell’s pub in Co Meath has been in the O’Connell family for six generations and has remained unchanged for over a century. You'll find no music, TV, or wifi passwords here..just old fashioned hospitality, a crackling fire, perfectly poured drinks and a heartfelt welcome tinyurl.com/22rvr27v
