A fairytale shouldn't end this way. Where is the pot of gold, the brass ring, the last second shot to win a national championship? Instead, with their best season ever ending in a loss tonight, the 2025 Multnomah Lions return "home"to face a future badly out of focus. Not to worry...for this is a love story, not a fairy tale. "Happily ever after" in a love story means the lasting memory of your connection goes with you wherever you go. Soon, a dozen basketball players and two talented coaches will gather up their belongings from the ruins of disbanded athletic and academic programs. There will be only echoes coming from the shuttered gym that once housed their sweat and smiles. They will soon depart this Portland, Oregon campus and scatter to the winds, leaving the tried and true to simmer in the stew-pot of something new. The focus will return to their lives... and the music from The Last Dance, The Last Lions, will play on forever. This is a love story, I told you...not a fairy tale. ✍️❤️

Shoutout to one of @MaxHoops3 coaches and an all around good dude, @CoachTayo32 who has lead his @MultnomahMBB squad to a first round upset in the @CCCSports conference tournament! This will be the last, and best season in the history of the school! Sad the athletic department and their undergraduate programs are closing at Multnomah. I hope Tayo keeps this magical season rolling!

LIONS ADVANCE!! Shock Oregon Tech 84-75 Noah Madsen had a career high 22 points, Braedon Edison scored 15 of his 21 points after intermission, and Marje Windfield came off the bench to ignite a 2nd half surge as Multnomah advances to the CCC Semi's, still alive in their farewell season.

In the 1950's, there was a scrappy fighter named Carmen Basilio who was widely revered for his competitive spirit. The Multnomah Lions are Carmen Basilio. After absorbing an 85-80 defeat last night at the hands of #24 OIT, the Lions play the final regularly scheduled game in their history tonight when they travel to play Southern Oregon in a contest to determine final playoff seeding in the NAIA's Cascade Collegiate Conference. Friday's narrow loss to OIT was Multnomah's 14th game this season decided by 5 points or less as the Lions continue to battle following the January announcement that athletics will cease to exist at the conclusion of this season. Lareel Stewart had a season high 16 points on 7 of 10 shooting in Friday's loss, while Braedon Edison came back from sick bay this week to lead the Lions with 18 points. Multnomah 🏀 (16-10/12-9) will open post-season play next week It may be The Last Fight ....but the fighter still remains.
