The mood around Xbox is they are ready to go to War. They are ready to all be accountable. This is not a mood of something this is being sold off. They just are being transparent. They are going to have layoffs , they are going to to have studio closures. After that they are going to make this a realistic company running either with support of Satya or I believe subsidiary of MS after the reset and the deep cuts they are going into battle. Asha is a no fuck around professional and she wants to take on Sony. She knows she has the studios, ip, and she is looking for a realistic start point which is coming shortly. That’s the reason for optimism in lieu of the upcoming brace of the reset. Xbox wants to go to War. They want to take share, they want to be competitive, and most of all they want to be respected. She gets it boys and girls. Do not feed into the negativity, it’s a front for fear. I genuinely think we may be witnessing the end of the “give studios the freedom to pursue their own creative vision” era that Phil Spencer often championed. I don’t want to single out any specific studios, but I imagine there are teams under a lot of pressure right now to show not only what they’re making, but why players should care and how it can help grow the platform. If Xbox is placing a greater emphasis on commercial viability, then projects with limited audience potential could face a much tougher environment going forward. Creative freedom is great, and I wish more experimental projects had succeeded. But the reality is that this industry is driven by commercial results. If Xbox’s long-term goal is to rebuild the value of the platform, then they’ll need games compelling enough to make non-PC players consider buying an Xbox. That’s also why I wonder whether we’re eventually heading toward major changes to Game Pass. Not necessarily the end of the service, but perhaps a shift away from the idea that every major first-party release must launch there on day one. Do you think Xbox is moving in that direction, or am I completely off base?

Here in Brazil, we haven't had official Xbox console sales since 2023. Our petition is currently ranked 8th on Xbox Player Voice, so hopefully they're seeing it. Brazil loves Xbox.

This discourse over exclusives has really highlighted that a lot of those who were praising Sony for going back to them, and chastising Xbox for not, never really cared about exclusives at all. They just want to platform war and have ammo to throw around on social media

The wild thing about this entire situation is people keep asking Xbox to compete. They do tactics that is used in the gaming industry and its a issue. The road Xbox was going was clearly not working so would a future with only Playstation and switch a better outcome?
