IMBARAGA (STRENGTH)
The lake does not ask their names. It only opens its waters, and they cross.
Morning after morning, evening after evening, they glide between hills and horizons, carrying their loved ones , stories, dreams, and the weight of another day.
In a world where too many women are taught fear, they answer with movement.
They do not conquer the water; they belong to it.
And sometimes, watching them disappear into the distance, I imagine that the lake is their sky. That their boats are wings. That every crossing is a lesson in freedom.
Their strength is not loud. It does not announce itself. It lives in the rhythm of their journeys.
IMBARAGA is a tribute to the women of Burera District, women who teach us that strength is not the absence of struggle, but the decision to keep moving through it.
Inspired by the women of Lake Burera, Rwanda.
