The team you’re on is less important than the attitude, effort & energy you bring. Freshman, Sophomore, JV, Varsity, starter, 2nd string, role player, etc. doesn’t define who you are. How you respond to your role, while working for the role you want & helping your team win, DOES!

To be a real leader, you have to lead everyone including your best friends. Calling others out & holding them accountable to & for the team isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. It leads to team achievement. Leaders should have no problem bringing others on the journey to betterment!

Congratulations to John Callis!!! This guy did not make it as a walk-on last year at Pepperdine. He spent the summer getting himself ready and is now a member of the Pepperdine Wave baseball team. Hard work and determination pay off.

Great story in the Tampa Bay Times about Dallas Mustangs alum Colin Poche and why he is in the Major Leagues and playing a role in the success of the the Tampa Bay Rays. The word “curiosity” jumped out at me. Colin took accountability for his success.
