@RocketLab Neutron Fairings Warkworth NZ. Neutron fairings hit the road. Not very far up the road but what a sight to see! Had me fooled - I was expecting it to move over to the test stand but it turned left and out the gate🫢Tucked away in a big tent "For Now". Where to next⁉️

With so much space infrastructure coming up Space-based data centers. In-space manufacturing. Moon bases and mining. Mars Sample Return and robotic explorers. demand for robotics will be massive.
We have officially acquired Motiv Space Systems. Motiv – now Rocket Lab Robotics – brings mission-tested Mars heritage with advanced multi-degree of freedom robotic arms, actuators, and drive electronics that have enabled some of the most ambitious planetary exploration missions in history, including NASA's Mars Perseverance rover. We're now one of few companies in the world capable of delivering end-to-end Mars mission solutions including launch, spacecraft, software, and proven robotics for surface and on-orbit operations. This unique capability positions us to lead programs like Mars Sample Return mission and the Mars Telecommunications Network.

Rocket Lab's #RKLB Neutron Payload Support Structure is on it's final leg from Auckland New Zealand to Launch Complex 3 Wallops Island Virginia on a the world's largest cargo aircraft the Antonov AN-124. Look out for updates from @EShoreSpaceflt Rocket Lab's @Peter_J_Beck may be the most frugal space company CEO but he sure loves to do cool stuff when it can be justified. Hold on to your hats - this is only the beginning.

Antonov AN-124 Departed from Auckland carrying an undisclosed cargo is about to land in Nadi Fiji. Speculation is that it is carrying the Rocket Lab $RKLB Payload Support Structure headed for Middle River Maryland Martin State Airport. Will be revealing to see where it heads to next👀 Thanks @jaustin175 for the heads up.

Damn it @RocketLab you beat me too it.🤨 Unfair advantage. I'm pretty sure every time they saw my bright red car at the top of the hill they were saying shut it down guys the shot is ours. And what fantastic shots they are. I've witnessed the massive amount of work put into this - so massive congratulations guys and gals of Rocket Lab Warkworth NZ.
Successful stage separation test campaign ✅ We're validating stage separation for Neutron, one of the most novel rocket separation systems ever designed. From sep system design, component testing and qualification, GSE design, manufacturing, commissioning, and operations planning through to test execution - we're proving out the technology behind one of Neutron's most critical events for mission success. Up next: moving into intentional off-nominal separation events with non-flight test articles to further push the system's resilience.

Rocket Lab $RKLB Warkworth NZ today. Caught a small lift of the Neutron separation test Stage 2 with accompanying dance of the cherry pickers and later found it all the way up under a lowering sky. Better luck tomorrow maybe.

I think this is called being "a victim of you own success" or the downside of being open and transparent. Security is tightening up at $RKLB Rocket Lab Warkworth. Understandable. There are people out there with a chip on both shoulders.

Spy vs Spy When I'm watching Rocket Lab $RKLB I never think someone might be watching back. Tom from Rocket Lab posted this shot of "the mighty Muzza" snaped by Mathew, presumably from one of the cherry pickers. A great laugh. But total admiration for you guy and gals at Rocket Lab Warkworth. And many thanks @jaustin175

Rocket Lab $RKLB Neutron Stage 2 separation testing at Warkworth New Zealand update 29 April. Not to be outdone by the official @RocketLab post yesterday. Stage 2 back at the top of the gantry, this time with the Interstage section in place. I'm determined to catch video of the Stage 2 on the ascent.

$RKLB Knowing Rocket Lab's quirky naming protocol I think they really missed an opportunity naming the HyperCurie engine. Looking at an image on a post from @ValueInIdeas this morning I reckon Cyberman as in Dr Who would have suited it well.

Rocket Lab $RKLB Neutron Stage 2 separation testing at Warkworth New Zealand update today. As expected the fixed fairing section has been stacked on top of the test interstage section. You start to get a better idea of how tall Neutron will be. This is only about 1/3 of the rocket and a shortened intermediate stage at that. There will be Hippo jaws, first stage and thrust structure for the final Neutron I'm so hoping to catch a full realistic test with stage 2 emerging from the fairing.

Oh wow, finally that look inside I've been hanging out for. Separation system to pour over for hours.🤤 Thank you so much @RocketLab
Traditional rocket fairings fall away as part of the launch process, making them either expendable or requiring recovery assets to capture and reuse them. Neutron rethinks this equation with the Hungry Hippo fairing. It stays attached to Neutron’s first stage, opening to release stage two and the payload during launch, before closing up and landing as complete unit with stage one, ready to launch again. It's all part of driving down launch cost and increasing launch cadence to give constellations better access to orbit.

If I ever met @Peter_J_Beck I never knew whether he would shake my hand and thank me for my service or have me arrested for industrial espionage. Phew now I know. We can relax @EShoreSpaceflt , @spacepat_o and @ToasterNZ SPB 12:56 "you know, we've got folks that sit outside the front with cameras watching every little bit of neutron development it's just awesome that there's so much interest and support. So you know that I would say first to everybody is like you know thanks, thanks for all the support and look we feel it incredibly."

I’ve always wondered how he—and the company—felt about me being out here at Wallops documenting everything with a camera. It’s good to know the feedback has been positive.
