After the @N51Conference we hiked up Johnston Canyon to see some impressive waterfalls and the inkpots. Ice most of the way, good thing we rented spikes! #geonerdsonice
It was amazing. Open conversations about difficult subjects with brilliant geospatial professionals is what we need more of. We missed your insights however so definitely mark your calendar!
Thatβs a wrap on NORTH51! We had an amazing conference led by @datamongerbonny Thank you for encouraging, challenging, and inspiring the stories told this week!

A huge thanks to all the people involved with @N51Conference, @jon_neufeld, @geo_will, GNO-SYS, @sparkgeo, @datamongerbonny for facilitating, and all the sponsors! It was great to see old friends and meet new ones!
A fantastic ending keynote @N51Conference, Robin Thurston @outsidemagazine talks about the application of geospatial for outdoor activities, the history of MapMyFitness and the start of Outside with one simple goal - get people outside more
7/ I am reminded that more than any other academic/career accolade, I want to be known as being brave in such a critical turning point of our time on Earth. I hope these hard conversations allow us to move beyond cartesian ways of thinking and foster the collective action we need
6/ I also received the most humbling feedback of my life when Professor Steven Wofsy - Harvard professor, six decades in the field, co-initiator of MethaneSAT - came up to me and said it was the most courageous talk he's ever listened to in his career.
