This morning, I officially opened the three-day training for members of the County Anti-Corruption Civilian Oversight Committees (CACCOCs) from all 47 counties at the Co-operative University of Kenya.
CACCOCs play a vital role in strengthening public integrity at the grassroots; promoting civic awareness, monitoring public projects, and conducting social audits. This training will equip them with enhanced skills to effectively oversee projects in the counties, reinforce accountability, and empower communities to address corruption. I urged them to and fully commit to the training to sharpen their skills and be effective in combating corruption at the grassroots, Their role compliments the broader agenda of the government to choke out the hideouts of corruption.
Principal Secretary, Sen.
@JudithPareno (Justice, Human Rights and Constitutional Affairs, Office of the Attorney General), Nerys Cross Smith, representing the British High Commission in Nairobi and Prof. Kamau Ngamau, VC of the Co-operative University, were present among other leaders and citizens.
