In case you didn’t watch the World Cup today (matchday 4) >Germany beat Curaçao 7-1… like they did to Brazil in 2014 >Netherlands drew Japan 2-2. Match of the tournament so far >Côte d’Ivoire beat Ecuador 1-0 on a 90 1’ winner from Diallo >Sweden pounded Tunisia 5-1. 2 golazos from Ayari >Curaçao’s equalizer vs Germany at 1-1 was absolute scenes. One of the best moments of the WC so far >Curaçao became the smallest nation to ever play in a World Cup match >Kai Havertz scored his 4th & 5th career World Cup goal. Truly a big-game player >Netherlands Japan was quite in the 1st half. Netherlands went up in the 64’ but never count out Japan. They equalized off a corner in the 89’ >Japan fans stayed late after their game to clean up garbage in the stadium >Japan’s coach went viral for communicating tactics to his team by writing numbers on giant whiteboards and holding them up on the touch line >Netherlands still haven’t lost a World Cup match in 90 minutes since 2006 after their 2-2 draw with Japan >Scotland fans marched to Fenway Park and the Tartan Army took over the Boston Red Sox baseball game >Spain’s coach announced Lamine Yamal is fit and ready to play in their first game >Dutch fans took over the streets of Dallas Texas today before their match vs Japan >Fans noticed players have found a loophole for FIFA’s new 5 second throw in rule: The time starts when you have the ball in your hand… players just wouldn’t pick the ball up until they were ready to throw > Portugal players received a Diogo Jota bracelet with the names of every player on the team >Somali referee Omar Artan will be paid for his World Cup match assignments by FIFA despite being denied entry to the US and the border >Zlatan Ibrahimovic took a night off from covering the World Cup with FOX to attend the UFC event at the White House while Sweden was playing >The Uruguayan national team's plane was not allowed to head to go to the due to administrative issues, even though they play tomorrow. The team eventually arrived in America late Sunday night less that 24 hours before kick off >The story of the Curaçao coach was trending online: He led them to the WC, left the team to be with his daughter in the Netherlands who was fighting cancer, she got better & his replacement coach quit so he could return to the team. Today he became the oldest World Cup coach in history. >Let me know if I missed anything I’ll post daily recaps all World Cup long, follow me pookie :)

The reason a lot of you don’t see anything wrong in one person hoarding large sums of money while people slave away and die of hunger is because you aspire to be like that also. Unfortunately, you are more likely to walk on water than to be a trillionaire.

Watching Brazil vs Morocco. I heard the commentator say "Second quarter." Second quarter? Why does the World Cup have to change from halves to quarters? I've watched the WC for over 35 years and have never seen it played in quarters. Was there a FIFA vote on this? SMH.

Past a certain point wealth stops being wealth, stops being the ability to buy a nice house or afford any luxury. Past a certain point wealth is the ability to plan the economy. And it is being stolen from us.
The myth of democracy can’t survive into the age of trillionaires—the ruling class isn’t even pretending it will. They’re busy preparing for an entirely different future than the one they’re selling us on. In fact most of us don’t appear in their future at all. This may be our last moment of choice.

The promise of colonialism has always been the same: surrender your dignity, abandon your dead, betray your people, and in return we’ll let you participate in your own subjugation. What an offer.
Netanyahu addresses the people of Lebanon: Seize your future. Join Israel. Build safety and prosperity for all of our children. And once Hezbollah is dismantled, the possibilities will be endless. And they are sky high.

Call me a hater but I think living in a world where both trillionaires and global poverty coexist is a sign humanity has failed as a species

Her husband told a court she was too strong to be a wife. The judge agreed and stripped Wangari Maathai of everything, her family, her job, her home. She looked around and noticed women walking miles every single day just to collect firewood. So she handed them seeds instead. The government responded with arrests, beatings, and a padlocked office door. 30,000 women trained. 51 million trees planted across Kenya. Nobel Peace Prize in 2004. They handed her destruction. She turned it into an entire forest.

Dear FIFA, You gave the World Cup to a country that bombs stadiums, deports referees, detains players, bans fans, and searches athletes with dogs on the tarmac. You've been very quiet. We're concerned. Are you okay? Blink twice if you can hear us.

Artan reffing for UEFA is his personal choice to make, but collectively speaking, Black people/Africans cannot accept this as justice for the original racist action of the visa cancellation. It's easier to accept a paltry consolation than to demand full recourse for an injustice.

Do you know how much PROPAGANDA it takes to convince a whole country of people that their military exists solely to keep them safe, and not to keep people around the world under their rule by destroying their homes and infrastructure while stealing their resources?

Not a single ball has been kicked yet, and this is already the picture of the 2026 World Cup: • The Senegal and Uzbekistan delegations were reportedly subjected to invasive searches upon arrival. • One of Africa’s top referees was reportedly sent back despite travelling on a diplomatic passport. • Iraq’s team photographer was denied entry despite holding a valid visa. • Around 90% of Moroccan supporters who had already purchased tickets reportedly had their visa applications rejected. • Multiple members of Iran’s support staff were refused visas. • Switzerland travelled without their star striker, Breel Embolo, after entry issues delayed his arrival. His visa was only granted following significant backlash. • Iran’s team, despite playing all of its matches in the United States, has reportedly been required to base itself in Mexico and fly in and out for games. What's the point of hosting a World Cup if so many of the people who make it a WORLD Cup are struggling to take part?
