This morning, UK forces boarded a Russian tanker in the English Channel that was secretly helping to bankroll Putin's war in Ukraine. The first operation of its kind led by British forces, and a clear message: there is nowhere to hide.

NEW: China arrested a US citizen after Trump met with Xi in Beijing and accused him of endangering national security — a rare charge against an American. The detainee, U Min Zin, is a grad student at @UCBerkeley who researches Myanmar. This adds a new strain to US-China ties.

What if one of the biggest barriers to #StratCom in government is... democracy itself? New report explores a paradox: the very features that make liberal democracies strong can also make coherent strategic communication much harder. 🔗 Read more: bit.ly/4ekNt5C

Today marks another historic chapter in the extraordinary history of the Polish Air Force. From the legendary Polish pilots who fought for freedom in the skies over Europe to the world-class airmen serving today, Poland has built a tradition of courage, excellence, and leadership that is respected throughout NATO. Today, that proud story enters a new era. These magnificent F-35s place the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft in the hands of Poland’s extraordinary Air Force—a powerful symbol of Poland’s growing strength, its commitment to collective defense, and the enduring partnership between the United States and Poland. Today opens the latest chapter in a remarkable history—one that strengthens deterrence, advances peace through strength, and reinforces Poland’s leadership on NATO’s eastern flank. Thanks to President Trump @POTUS, @KarolPopieramy, @KosiniakKamysz, @LockheedMartin for helping make this historic milestone possible.

Today, for the first time, we mark the Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces, and from now on, each year, June 11 will be a day of our gratitude to the warriors of the Unmanned Systems Forces. Modern warfare can no longer be imagined without drones, and Ukrainian unmanned systems are operating successfully at different levels: from carrying out missions on the frontline to striking important enemy facilities hundreds of kilometers deep inside its territory. All of this is being documented, and it is thanks to the precision and skill of our operators that Russia’s losses have long exceeded 30,000 killed and wounded per month. I thank each and every person serving in the Unmanned Systems Forces, developing Ukrainian technologies, and working for the sake of our advantage on the battlefield. Thank you to everyone who is working to reduce Russia’s capabilities and strengthen our security.

The full-scale war in Ukraine has now lasted longer than World War I Today marks the 1568th day of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, officially surpassing the length of the First World War, which lasted 1567 days. Recent analysis by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) shows that Russia’s current most intense offensive is slower than the infamous Battle of the Somme in 1916, where Allied forces advanced at an average of 80 meters per day. Russian advances can barely suppress the 14 meters per day in some front-line areas while losing thousands of soldiers.

This is the right path and should be treated as a priority task for @NATO It would be better though to speak less of consultations which are the Alliance’s routine bread and butter but to highlight specific actions taken - this is what the public in member states really expects

NATO’s commitment to defend every inch of Allied territory demands that we consistently adapt to an evolving security landscape. As a direct result of Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine, we’ve seen more incidents with drones along our eastern flank – both in the air and at sea. NATO is working closely with our Allies to ensure we continue to address this challenge efficiently and effectively, including through discussions today in the North Atlantic Council focused on security along the Black Sea

We continue to apply Ukrainian long-range sanctions against Russian military facilities and the oil industry. In particular, last night Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingos struck a military plant in Cheboksary that supplies the occupier’s army with components for drones and missiles. I thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their precision! The Kuibyshev oil refinery in the Samara region was also hit last night. The distance from the frontline is more than 900 kilometers. I am grateful to the warriors of the Special Operations Forces, the Unmanned Systems Forces, and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. The entirely just responses of the Security Service of Ukraine also reached two oil infrastructure facilities in the Vladimir region, at a distance of 700 kilometers. I thank everyone who fights and works for Ukraine!
