In school, friends, events, relationships, and opportunities are built into your environment.

I think it would be good for the game if American soccer stars acted like Americans should like soccer.
“For me personally, it’s not like all that much is changing. It’s just another big tournament, to be honest.”
USMNT star Christian Pulisic is on latest edition of GQ magazine.
He knows people are excited about the World Cup, but he’s relaxed about it.
“I get texts from my family and close friends—they're definitely all excited about it, for sure,” Pulisic said.
“I mean, I feel like I’m constantly playing in big games. For me personally, it’s not like all that much is changing. It’s just another big tournament, to be honest.
“A lot of people are trying to make it even more than it is. I get it, it’s a huge tournament [shrugs].
“I’m looking forward to it.”
Let’s see if this relaxed attitude can ease pressure off of Pulisic and help him shine in the World Cup.

Ryan Grim says he's glad Platner won because it's forcing progressives to confront bigotry against white men, comparing it to people coming out of the closet to address homophobia.
If he had said this while we worked together at The Intercept, HR would've pushed him into lava.
