How do cancer-driving fusion proteins create their own vulnerabilities? A new #ARTNetPublication in @CR_AACR co-authored by Dr. Trever Bivona @BivonaLabUCSF shows that FET fusion oncoproteins impair ATM-mediated DNA damage repair, forcing tumors to rely on ATR signaling for survival. This collateral dependency may be exploited therapeutically with ATR inhibitors across multiple FET-rearranged cancers. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4181… #CancerResearch #EwingSarcoma #DNARepair #PrecisionMedicine #ATRinhibitors

Delighted to share our @NatureCancer paper, out today, on determinants of ICB response in GBM (link in 🧵) With bulk and single-nucleus genomic profiling of 181 ICB-treated tumors, we found that tumor RNA subtype (and not TMB!) predicts survival and shapes acquired resistance.
