Congrats to Katherine Joyce for a successful career spanning 2 decades in public education advocacy!
In recognition of her upcoming retirement as Executive Director of @NCASAtweets, NCSBA recently honored Joyce (pictured, center) with its Friend of Education award.
The award, presented by NCSBA's President Carlos Riddick and Executive Director Leanne Winner, recognizes an individual whose support and dedication to public education is tireless and steadfast. The association's board of directors voted at their March meeting to honor Joyce.

Thanks to the Heroes for Literacy initiative, volunteers from the @AshevilleFD and @AshevillePolice created an unforgettable experience for these students. As the fire truck approached the school, the entire student body gathered outside, cheering and waving in excitement.
