The Division maintains 43 ocean artificial reefs and 29 estuarine reefs, creating prime spots for fishing and SCUBA diving. These reefs are enhanced using materials like retired vessels & recycled concrete pipe, creating thriving underwater habitats: bit.ly/3nPwPo8

A big congratulations to angler Wyatt Rabon, who just set a new North Carolina state record for a Graysby Grouper!
His catch weighed in at 3 lbs, 8 oz, topping the previous record—and even unofficially tying the current world record!

The N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission voted to begin the rulemaking process for a five-fish recreational bag limit for Atlantic Bonito.
This decision continues the management process, with more opportunities for public input ahead.

Nick and his crew—furry friend included🐶 —landed and released this impressive 45-inch Red Drum off Buxton in early April. Nick was extra lucky to land a WHOLE big red since he also released several sharks off the beach that weekend. 🦈 #weighinwednesday

Did you know Florida Pompano are delicious? A solid white meat with a slight sweet taste and are commonly caught right off our North Carolina beaches! 🐟 🎣 Evan caught and kept this early season Pompano from Cape Lookout that weighed in at 4-pounds, 12-ounces. #weighinwednesday
