Friday around 6:30 PM, the bald eagles at ND-LEEF laid a third egg!
After the loss of egg #1 earlier this week, the new arrival is an encouraging sign. With two eggs now in the nest, the pair has resumed steady incubation: environmentalchange.nd.edu/.ā¦
š¦ š„Yesterday afternoon, the eagles at ND-LEEF laid a second egg. Unfortunately, during incubation egg #1 broke.
This pair has laid a third egg in past seasons. If another egg is laid, we may see it within the next 2-3 days.

Two days after installing the new wide angle cam, a juvenile bald eagle landed in the nest to feed on leftover food...until the resident adults drove it off!
