Start of our research meeting looking at this vital topic of ‘transition and adult care’. Transition can be particularly difficult if you have a rare disease especially one like NEC that is considered as a ‘neonatal disease’ yet we know for many has lifelong complications.

Feeling Overwhelmed we are run completely by volunteers and we only have a few. We have jobs and children (some with complex medical needs). If we aren’t able to get some more help the charity can’t function.

A Core Outcome Set for NEC, published today! pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3872… Together, patients, their families and clinicians selected the most important outcomes in NEC treatment trials. This work encourages new treatment trials for NEC and emphasises the need for long term follow-up.
