A great opportunity to practise our counting skills today. We searched for ten sunflowers at Forest School and added them to this tens frame as we found them. This helped us to work out how many more flowers we needed to find. #LPSeyfs#LPSmaths
We met Lady Gaga the tarantula, Bubbles the African hedgehog, Mary the snake and lots more fascinating creatures today. Huge thanks to Team LPS who kindly donated the funds for the experience. #LPSeyfs#LPSscience@TEAMLPS1
We have been investigating ways to keep our teeth healthy this week. This afternoon we made a refreshing alternative to sugary drinks using mint, ginger and fruit. Delicious! #LPSeyfs#LPSrshe
It’s all been about teeth, gums and tongues this week! We are thinking about ways to keep our teeth healthy. We have made some fabulous paper plate mouths, a healthy cheese hedgehog and are keeping a record of our twice daily toothbrushing. #LPSeyfs#LPSrshe#LPSdt#LPSmaths
A fun and fascinating visit to the wonderful Ledbury Heritage Centre this morning. We got a feel for what our town was like a long time ago. If you haven’t been, it’s definitely worth a visit. #LPSeyfs#LPShistory#LPSrshe
A see-saw certainly requires teamwork! These children extended their technique by rocking the see-saw whilst standing up. They needed to hold hands and support each other as they shifted their weight. Clever! #LPSeyfs#LPSrshe#LPSpe
Last week, some children found it hard to share balloons with friends. This week, the same children invented a game a bit like volleyball so that lots of children could play with one balloon. They even kept score with toys! Great problem solving team! #LPSeyfs#LPSrshe#LPSmaths
We played team building games to help us see that we can achieve more as friends than we can on our own. We were challenged to move a ball across the room without using our hands or feet. The children worked out that they could use tummies or backs instead! #LPSeyfs#LPSrshe
It is important to be able to talk about our feelings. We began to explore our emotions today by playing a simple game of pulling emotion faces. We acted out nervous, happy, shocked, fed up and angry. Great job team! #LPSeyfs#LPSrshe
Whilst we were walking back from the library, our Little Wrens noticed the buzz of the bees in our beautiful wildflower meadow. The children have been fascinated by plants recently so we were able to talk about some of the interesting things we have learned. #LPSeyfs#LPSscience
Our interest in healthy food has taken us in an interesting direction! We are exploring the work of Arcimboldo and made these fruit and vegetable face collages inspired by his striking paintings. #LPSeyfs#LPSart
Before half-term, the children were interested in vegetables and herbs. We tasted them and explored their structure. We made this kitchen garden a few weeks ago and the children were excited to see how much our herb plants had grown during the holiday. #LPSeyfs#LPSscience
We learned some vocabulary to describe the flavours of food. We love these reactions to trying sour lemon! What a great way to associate words with our senses! #LPSeyfs#LPSscience
We have been exploring which foods are healthy and good to eat every day and which food make great, occasional treats. We found a delicious way to enjoy healthy vegetables and yummy herbs by making these colourful, roasted kebabs. #LPSeyfs#LPSdt#LPSrshe
We made natural paints in Forest School today. We mixed up spices, herbs, leaves and tomato to make some beautiful colours. They smelled fabulous too! #LPSeyfs#LPSart
We were inspired by The Big Help initiative this week which King Charles wanted us all to get involved with after the coronation festivities. We did all sorts of jobs around school including watering the plants and plumping up the cushions in the school office. #LPSeyfs#LPSrshe
