This past Wednesday, October 15, Mayor Gabe Adame of the City of Alvin met with members of the Bay Area Chapter to issue an official proclamation for White Cane Awareness Day!

ALT A framed proclamation from the City of Alvin, Texas, designating October 15, 2025, as White Cane Awareness Day. The document is from the Office of the Mayor and includes several “WHEREAS” statements recognizing that the white cane symbolizes independence and enables safe, independent mobility for blind individuals. It encourages motorists, cyclists, and employers to respect and support blind citizens. The proclamation is signed by Mayor Gabe Adame and bears the official city seal in gold at the bottom.
