NFDI4Ing will leave this platform with the end of 2023. The NFDI association and most consortia are focusing their efforts on platforms more aligned with our shared values. This account will remain as archive, but will not receive further updates. Find us on Mastodon & BlueSky!
Starting now, ing.grid is aligning itself with the movement of @NFDI_de@NFDI4Ing and numerous NFDI consortia to cease our activities on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter inggrid.org/news/47/
ALT We are stepping away from Twitter/X in favour of platforms that are currently more aligned with our values. Find us on Mastodon, LinkedIn or BlueSky!
The NFDI association and all NFDI consortia are dedicated to the core values of Open Science. We value diversity – not only in the data we care about, but also in the conversations we engage in. We are committed to nurturing an environment that is welcoming, supportive, respectful and free of harassment, intimidation, bullying and discrimination. The decisions of Twitter/X to substantially reduce their content moderation teams and to invite previously banned perpetrators of hate speech back onto their platform, run contrary to this commitment. We’ve therefore decided to move our social media engagement away from Twitter/X. Henceforth, we’re focusing our efforts on our accounts on platforms that currently better resonate with our values, such as our own welcoming NFDI Mastodon instance, LinkedIn or BlueSky.
We invite you to the next meeting of our special interest group (SIG) QA&metrics on 8 December at 9 AM. The work of the SIG in 2023 (DMP, FAIR, Quality dimensions) will be summarised and we'll develop topics for upcoming meetings.
registration is open: rwth.zoom.us/meeting/registe…
We are proud to share that we have a new manuscript published at ing.grid. "Towards Improved Findability of Energy Research Software by Introducing a Metadata-based Registry" is our second publication from the 2022 @NFDI4Ing Conference Special Issue inggrid.org/news/45/
The second day at the "Markt der digitalen Möglichkeiten" just started. Come visit our #NFDI booth @EAHJena and learn about the activities of our consortia.

Seid dabei! Zugangsdaten unter langzeitarchivierung.de/Webs…#FDM
New manuscript: "PIA - A Concept for a Personal Information Assistant for Data Analysis and Machine Learning of Time-Continuous Data in Industrial Applications" doi.org/10.48694/inggrid.382….
This is the first publication from our 2022 @NFDI4Ing Conference Special Issue.
Dorothea Strecker, Nina L. Weisweiler, Rouven Schabinger, and I have published a preprint on closed research data repositories:
📄doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2310.…
We found that repository shut down is not rare, 6.2 % of repositories in @re3data were no longer accessible.

NFDI4Ing conducts an annual community survey on research data management (RDM) in engineering. It's important to get feedback from as many engineering disciplines as possible.
We appreciate it if you could share the link with your colleagues.

Die @NFDI4Ing möchte ihre Unterstützungsangebote beständig verbessern und weiterentwickeln. Dafür hat sie eine Umfrage gestartet: t1p.de/q3v7r. Mit eurer Teilnahme könnt ihr helfen! #Engineering#FDM
At the 3rd @NFDI4Ing Conference, our Managing Editor Kevin Logan presented the building blocks for constructing ing.grid as a FAIR journal. Read more and access the presentation here: inggrid.org/news/41/
If you missed the #NFD4Ing conference or just want to check out some of the posters and talks, you can visit the conference community on Zenodo: zenodo.org/communities/nfdi4…. Some presentations are already online, more will follow.
