From established prospects continuing to build momentum to rising underclassmen making their presence felt, evaluators identified a talented group of players who consistently impacted winning and stood out against quality competition. The Class of 2027 featured a deep collection of proven performers, while the Classes of 2028 and 2029 showcased the next wave of talent already beginning to attract statewide attention. At 6'6", 215 pounds, the North Farmington wing brings a physical presence, rebounds outside his area, finishes through contact, and consistently impacts winning on both ends. 5 reasons the trap bar deadlift is one of the best total body strength exercises for basketball players: 1. Improves Vertical Jump The trap bar deadlift trains powerful triple extension of the ankles, knees, and hips—the same movement pattern used when jumping for rebounds, blocks, and dunks. 2. Increases First-Step Explosiveness Acceleration starts with force into the ground. Stronger glutes, hamstrings, and quads allow players to push off harder and cover more ground on their first step. 3. Builds Total-Body Strength with Less Stress Compared to a straight-bar deadlift, the trap bar: Places less stress on the lower back Allows a more upright torso Is easier to teach Reduces injury risk This is why many college and NBA programs prefer it. 4. Safer for Taller Athletes Many basketball players are 6’5”–7’0” with long limbs. The trap bar is often more comfortable and allows better positioning than a conventional barbell deadlift. 5. Produces High Power Outputs Research consistently shows the trap bar deadlift allows athletes to generate tremendous power, especially when performed explosively or with jump variations.
