This NAIDOC Week, we celebrate 'The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy'.
The Australian Academy of Science acknowledges the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems that have evolved for over 65,000 years. We celebrate the vision of young Indigenous scientists, like Tiahni Adamson, Dr Katrina Wruck, Dr Mitchell Gibbs and A/Prof Shannon Kilmartin-Lynch – the speakers at our recent event held for National Reconciliation Week. They are helping shape the future of science, and honouring the legacy of their ancestors whose wisdom continues to guide and enrich our understanding of the natural world.
As outlined in our Reconciliation Action Plan, we're committed to working together toward a future where all ways of knowing are valued and respected.
