You are mentally ill. It is a large pool that attracts wild birds and whatever other debris falls into it, and being so shallow gets very warm in the sun, and you're wondering how algae could possibly spread without sabotage? Idiot.
President Trump fixes the reflecting pool and a week later it’s green again, loaded with algae… Sabotage… Vandalism? I believe it is. The left can’t stand Trump, American greatness and his quest to make DC beautiful again. What a shame!
Community note
The Interior Department stated the algae is a normal startup result caused by residual buildup in supply lines that were dormant during repairs. It is not sabotage. Similar algae growth occurred naturally after the pool's 2012 renovation. yahoo.com/news/politics/… newsfactsnetwork.com/news/algae-app… nbcnews.com/news/photo/dcs…

This is a mix of insecurity, bigotry, and immaturity. The dude was embarrassed that he was attracted to a man because, especially among men, it's treated as a bad thing. His weak mind is sent straight into anger. A showcase for toxic masculinity, and why pride month is needed.

It's not healthy for society. If you can't understand why, take it further, imagine instead that Musk manages to somehow accumulate far more wealth. He takes massive ownership stakes in every company. He buys out, or locks out through political influence, competitors, market by market until they fail/sell. He could buy out the media. If they won't sell, since he owns so many major companies, he pulls advertising. He slaps them with as many lawsuits as he can throw at them until they cannot sustain themselves, and must do as he says or sell. He'd have enough money to basically purchase any political race with ease. Between that and having the media doing his bidding, democracy is effectively dead. Imagine he decides to offer insane amounts of money to start buying all of the farms and ranches. Now he controls the food supply. Where it goes. Who gets it. What they have to pay for it. Wealth begets wealth. The more wealth you have, the faster your wealth grows, and the more disproportionately it grows compared to normal, working folks. A society which allows trillionaires while the bottom 50% are struggling to pay bills and wondering if they'll even be able to retire is a society that is headed rapidly towards failure. I suspect if there was a hypothetical communist multi-trillionaire that y'all would quickly realize how scary someone possessing that much wealth truly is.

We need a wealth tax. Period. Most people cannot grasp the concept that having money basically turns you into a leech. Even with just $3M you could comfortably withdraw $100K/yr and still grow that $3M by 3-5%. Now imagine someone with $50M. They can put that into an account and forget about it, living off of a cozy $1.6M/yr, while their wealth still grows by over $1M/yr. These are conservative returns of ~6%. That's it. They don't need to do anything ever again and they'll live like kings. Do you understand how insane that is? Most of that is going to be capital gains, not income, meaning they're getting taxed far less than a person who worked and (though very unlikely) made $1.5M that year. Capital gains taxes don't contribute to Medicare, or Social Security either. These people could easily, EASILY, Eat a 1-2% wealth tax, still live off $1M/yr AND grow by $1M/yr. The higher you go, the more ridiculous it gets. Most of these people aren't even working. They don't have to. They'll never have to. Capital gains taxes need to be higher as well. How the fuck do you get taxed less than an actual worker when you did nothing? It's really mind boggling that this is our current system, and anyone who defends it is a complete fool.

Genuinely this dude's entire fortune has been built on losing money, but convincing people over and over again that you have some crazy feature or product that's coming soon, but never actually does, and that eventually you will totally make money. Toyota made $25B in profit last year, almost 7x what Tesla made, and has a market cap less than 1/4 of Tesla. If Tesla had a market cap based on profit, it would be worth $40B, nearly 1/35th it's current value, and Musk's shares would be worth around $8B instead of nearly $300B. His entire fortune is fake.

He's a snake oil salesman. The world's richest ever, and I guess on some level that is an impressive feat, but really I think it just speaks to how fucking stupid your average person is.

People always screech about taxing unrealized gains. Brother, these billionaires are growing their wealth quicker than we could tax it. 7 out of the 10 richest people have 5 year annualized growth rates over 10%. 4 of them over 20%. They will still get richer even with a 5% tax.
Brad, a 5% tax on Elon's trillion net worth would literally pay for free college and trade school for every American. And with the market's growth, he still would be worth over a trillion dollars! You don't think that's worth it?
Community note
5% of $1.2T is $60b. 8m students in BA/BS programs on average pay over $20k/yr, or ~$160b/yr for BA/BS degrees only. That tax could not cover even half of only US bachelor degree costs for just 1 year, excluding grad, ass., or trade degrees totaling another ~10m students. nces.ed.gov/programs/coe/i… bestcolleges.com/research/colle…

It's amazing that anyone ever believed in trickle down economics. It's stupid at face value, but also, you know what trickle means, right? They promised the thing next to nothing and you thought it sounded great 🤣
surely the wealth will trickle down now!! right guys?

SpaceX didn't create anything. The stock market is simply fake. Over the last 3 years SpaceX has actually had a net loss of nearly $9B. Only one of those years was slightly profitable, yet it's worth almost as much as Microsoft, which had a net income of $263B over that time.
SpaceX alone just created over 5,000 millionaires while you have lifted zero people out of poverty or created zero millionaires (besides yourself)

In practical terms, not really. It's much easier for someone worth nearly $300B to ~3.3x their net worth than for someone worth $1M (a number skewed by the rich) to 300,000x their net worth.
🚨 #BREAKING: The average American is now closer to Jeff Bezos in net worth than Jeff Bezos is to Elon Musk.

The more I look into the no tax on overtime, the more it actually fucking sucks. I'll reply with the reasons why.

PTO doesn't count when calculating qualified overtime. If you take 8 hrs of PTO, and then work 40 more hours that week, your employer probably pays you 8 hours of overtime. As of current guidelines this wouldn't qualify. Same goes for holidays. If you get holidays paid off, and then come in and work 40 hours the rest of the week, your employer probably uses the holiday hours to calculate your overtime that week. Doesn't count for the deduction though. I'm required to work certain holidays, and I get double time for it. Doesn't count at all under current guidelines. Even if I work over 40 total hours, I can still only deduct 0.5x my wages earned over 40 hours. You have to actually physically work over 40 hours. Nothing else counts. Actually insane policy. Unnecessarily complex. I'll probably end the year with $15K in OT, plus $5K in double time, and I'll be lucky if I can deduct $4000 of it because of vacations and holidays. Btw for any other Kentuckians out there, Kentucky was supposed to start following the federal guidelines for tips/OT starting this year and they just decided they didn't want to, so you won't be getting those deductions in Kentucky.
