The Parliament of Uruguay has adopted a statement calling on Azerbaijan to immediately release Armenian hostages.
During a session of the House of Representatives, held in connection with the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Armenian MP José Luis Saghian introduced the initiative, which received cross-party support.
Representatives of all political factions delivered remarks, proudly emphasizing that Uruguay was the first country to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide.
Deputies José Luis Saghian, Ana Olivera, and Pedro Jisdonian also addressed the ethnic cleansing of the people of Artsakh and the ongoing detention of Armenian hostages in Azerbaijan.
