Great chat with @PremierofNL today. So much opportunity on our doorstep in NL! Still some barriers to remove but we are making progress. Thanks to the Premier and his team for openness and collaboration with NLs business community as we support economic and population growth.
Thank you to Ministers Bernard Davis and Gerry Byrne for attending our AGM and contributing to a great discussion on the importance of a competitive business environment for our province's success. #MinisterBernardDavis#MinisterGerryByrne

Getting miked up for this weekend's @NTVNewsNL Issues and Answers with @MikeConnors to chat about NLs fiscal situation and Janice MacKinnon's comments at our Transforming our Future summit this week.
Businesses have been severely impacted by the SOE. They are concerned about their employees, and also stressed about property damage, product lost due to spoilage, and a lack of cash flow/ income after being closed for a week. There will be long term impact. #snowmaggedon2020
While many businesses can pay employees for missed shifts, not all are in a position to afford this. This does not make them villains, or mean they do not care about their staff. It is not that simple. Individual businesses are faced with significant individual challenges.
There are also other ways businesses are helping their employees through the SOE, like cash advances, extra shifts, bonuses, etc. We've all heard the stories of businesses supporting the community through free food, transportation and services. We are all in this together.
