From May 2007 to May 2008, Athan Iannucci went on one of the greatest goal-scoring runs in pro lacrosse history. In the summer of 2007, Iannucci scored a Western Lacrosse Association-best 51 goals. That same summer, he scored 16 goals in only 4 games with the Chicago Machine in Major League Lacrosse. In the winter/spring of 2008, Iannucci scored a then-National Lacrosse League record of 71 goals (beating Gary Gait's record of 61 goals set 5 years prior).
