Women's rights and gender equality are important issues for me. As a minister, as a human being, and as the father of two daughters. #InternationalWomensDay is a day to reflect. But not to be silent. That is why I spoke with three inspiring women: Mekka, Alma, and Linda. 1/2

They all had different stories, but for me, the message was clear: Set the standard and lead by example. And that's what I'll do. Together with partners like them, the Netherlands will keep working on improving the safety of and equal rights for women and girls worldwide. 2/2

Today marks four years of Russian aggression, resulting in many deaths, widespread destruction and daily fighting. Ukraine can continue to count on our support, now and in the future. During a digital meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, we reiterated this with a large group of international leaders. It is important to do so again today. We discussed important elements of that support, such as security guarantees for Ukraine once peace has been established, so that we can jointly deter further Russian aggression. Moreover, until peace is finally achieved, we must increase and maintain pressure on Russia. We are strongest when we continue to do this together, with Ukraine. Because their struggle is our struggle. And their security is our security. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦

Today marks four years of Ukrainian resistance against Russia's war of aggression. A fight for freedom and for our security in Europe. Strong support is more crucial than ever. As is maximum pressure on Russia. To our Ukrainian friends I say: we will remain firmly by your side.
