This week and last week, DMCEPI and @ChicagoOEMC facilitated two Hands-Only CPR/AED/Stop the Bleed trainings for @LettuceEats restaurant managers and staff. Employees learned easy and effective lifesaving skills that they can utilize at their restaurants in emergency situations!

Last week DMCEPI facilitated a Hands Only CPR and AED training with @atecambulance for our colleagues at @NorthwesternMed Central DuPage Hospital. Participants learned about sudden cardiac arrest and learned life-saving skills! #HandsOnlyCPR

Our Spring 2024 'Intro to Disaster Preparedness, Response, and Management' elective concluded last week with a cumulative tabletop exercise, during which students demonstrated course concepts learned and their ability to respond to an incident. #disasterpreparedness#education

A recent data collection effort and study led by the @BuffettInst's Defusing Disasters Working Group, co-led by Professors @danethanNU and @GeorgeChiampas with members including @ChiPublicHealth's @reedmonseur and @chicago's Kyra Woods, showed that neighborhoods on the city’s South Side were the hottest, and residents there were the most vulnerable to extreme weather.
