@boxbrown nails it: “If the hemp market is seen as competition, corporate cannabis could always consider competing with them on quality and price instead of lobbying to eliminate them via statute”

Congratulations to Alicia Deals, @KingTelfair31, and the entire Cookies Tempe family. We love seeing social equity succeed, and we so appreciate @hernandezforaz coming out to show her support! We can’t wait to see what these two do to create meaningful change for their community.

If you’re counting at home, that’s 2 marijuana recalls in just the past month. It’s very unfortunate that Sen. @TJShopeforAZ (the Chair of Senate HHS) blocked SB1709, the one testing bill that could have made us safer.
AZ marijuana recalled because health regulators say it’s possibly contaminated with salmonella/aspergillus. Health dept. doesn’t actually test products off the shelf like other states so not really sure tucsonsentinel.com/local/rep…

SB1466, related to the legal marijuana industry, will not move forward. Sen. @TJShopeforAZ said it didn't receive enough GOP support. The bill would have made numerous changes, incl disallowing Delta 8 and other hemp byproducts as being classified as marijuana.

Two testing bills were introduced this year. SB1709 would have made a real difference (CC @AZSenatorShamp), but unfortunately, it died in Senate HHS without a hearing. And what does this year’s omnibus bill do? IT ENDS THE TESTING ADVISORY COUNCIL #AzLeg fox10phoenix.com/news/mariju…

Consumers, and especially immunocompromised patients, need real reform. This starts with maximum batch sizes, AZDHS reporting requirements, and recordkeeping requirements that allow meaningful investigations. A secret-shopper program should be implemented as well.

State Director @jonu_esq: This case’s “conclusion is both a credit to the court and to voters. Hopefully, this ruling provides solace and encouragement to the countless Arizonans who have been charged with an offense involving the sale of 2.5 ounces or less marijuana.” BIG NEWS!
Court decision means people convicted of selling less than 2.5oz marijuana in AZ can get record expunged just like people charged/convicted of possession under that amount azcentral.com/story/news/loc… by @raystern
